According to The Globe and Mail’s article on Thursday, October 29, the Government of Ontario is forcing the Niagara Parks commission to accept bids from companies that want to run boat tours at Niagara Falls. When the Maid of the Mist Steamboat Company’s 25 year contract is up, companies will have a chance to bid for permission to run boat tours at Niagara Falls. The Maid of the Mist is accused of having a monopoly on boat tours at Niagara Falls.
On one hand, I think that having anothe... Continue reading ...

The free time from May to October is 1 hour, but from November- April the free time is only a half hour, so you may not get to check off as many items from the list.
- Shopping. There are so many cute boutique shops; you won’t know where to start.

Many people confuse the village of Niagara-on-the-Lake with the city of Niagara Falls. They are 2 different towns. As you can guess, the city of Niagara Falls is in Niagara Falls. The village of Niagara-on-the-Lake is built downriver from Niagara Falls, where Lake Ontario meets the Niagara River.
The village was first settled in 1776. Niagara-on-the-Lake was the first capital of Upper Canada. It was the first place to make slavery illegal in North America. During the war of 1812, many batt... Continue reading ...

Many people confuse the Skylon Tower with it’s larger cousin, the CN Tower. They are NOT the same.
The CN Tower, located in downtown Toronto, was the world’s tallest building. The Skylon Tower, located in Niagara Falls, isn’t as tall, but has a spectacular view of Niagara Falls and the Niagara area.
The Skylon Tower opened on Oct 6, 1965. The tower is 775 ft. tall, but it only takes a 52 second elevator ride to get to the observation level. There are both indoor and outdoor observatio... Continue reading ...

“Indian legend tells of Lelawala, a beautiful maid betrothed by her father to a brave she despised. Rather than marry, Lelawala chose to sacrifice herself to her true love, He-No, the Thunder God, who dwelled in a cave behind the Horseshoe Falls. She paddled the canoe into the swift current of the Niagara River and was swept over the brink. He-No caught her as she plummeted and together their spirits are said to live forever in the Thunder God's sanctuary behind the Falls."- The Magic of Ni... Continue reading ...
On July 27, 2009, the Niagara Parks commisssion awarded Chariots of Fire a certificate on behalf of the "Spare the Air" program. The award was for our policy of not allowing our vehicles to idle, causing carbon emmissions. Not only do we not allow our vehicles to Idle at the different stops along our tour, we also reduce our emmissions by not idling in front of multiple hotels while waiting for late passengers. With our 3 pick up locations, we can turn off the bus engine and wait for the pas... Continue reading ...
Many people ask why we do not do hotel pick ups. There are a few reasons.
The main reason is that having only 3 stops saves time. Imagine that there are 30 people on the bus. On average, that would be about 10 different hotels. In order to leave Toronto by 9:00, we would have to start picking up at 8:00, or even 7:30 if there are people in Markham or Scarborough. If you were the first picked up, you would be on the bus 2 ½ to 3 ½ hours before getting to Niagara Falls. The same coming ba... Continue reading ...
