Many people confuse the Skylon Tower with it’s larger cousin, the CN Tower. They are NOT the same.
The CN Tower, located in downtown Toronto, was the world’s tallest building. The Skylon Tower, located in Niagara Falls, isn’t as tall, but has a spectacular view of Niagara Falls and the Niagara area.
The Skylon Tower opened on Oct 6, 1965. The tower is 775 ft. tall, but it only takes a 52 second elevator ride to get to the observation level. There are both indoor and outdoor observation decks on the same level. On a very clear day, from the outside observation level, you can see 8,000 square miles. There are probably 2 or 3 days a year that the air quality is so good that you can see the CN tower in downtown Toronto from the Skylon Tower.
Of course you get a chance to view the Niagara Falls from the observation deck of this amazing tower while on either of our Niagara Falls Tour Rides. For tour information, you can visit their tour info pages here: Toronto to Niagara Falls Tour info, and Fall for Niagara tour info.
